The race will start and finish at race headquarters where refreshments will be served afterwards. The campus is a state of the art facility with areas to safely warm up and ample showers and changing facilities.

Starting the race and the start area
The race will start at 9:30am. There is no need to check in on race day. There will be a help desk on the day to answer any queries you have, please note however we will not be in a position to reissue your number or timing chip so be sure to have them with you on the day. While there is plenty parking at the race headquarters please allow yourself enough time should you have to park in the overflow car park which is 2km away.
There will be a number of pace graded corrals set up at the start, please join the one which will best suit your pace. For your safety and comfort slower runners should start towards the back of the race. Your chip time will be recorded so you will get an accurate time regardless of where you start.
You must wear your race number on your chest and insure it is not covered.
Parking will be available at race headquarters with overflow available 2km away.
Waterford AC accurately times every participant from start line to finish line with timing partners Total Timing.
Official results are based off gun time; that is the time from when the gun sounds to when you cross the finish line. Your chip time will also be made available in the results this is from when you cross the start line to when you cross the finish line and is a more accurate reflection of your individual time.
In order to receive a result you must wear your timing chip correctly. Results will be available online during the race and will be texted to you post-race.
We will have pacers for the following times: 1:25, 1:30, 1:40, 1:50, 2:00, 2:10. Our pacers are very experienced and are recognizable by Balloons. Why not introduce yourself before the race start.
The Order of Malta will be on hand to deal with any medical emergencies should they arise. The race takes place on open roads so participants should adhere to all steward’s instructions and follow all signage.
In accordance with official AAI rules this race is strictly over 18s you must be 18 on or before the race date to participate.
All participants are instructed not to wear headphones as this can impede your ability to hear instructions, approaching traffic, and fellow runners. Offenders will have their name removed from the results.
The route and water stops
The route is accurately measured using a jones counter and an official AAI course measurer. A route map can be found by clicking here. The course will be marked every mile. Water will be provided in bottles at 3 water stations on the course. If you have taken water please do not throw the bottle over the ditch or into the path of runners behind you. Discard the bottle to the side of the road where it can be recovered easily later by our environmental team. If you need to adjust your running path to take water please to so early and be careful not to cut off runners behind you. All water stops are to the left of the road.
